Simon Ungless Residency at Atelier Jolie
Simon Ungless held a limited-time residency at Atelier Jolie, September 17-27. "The residency follows another recent feature on Ungless's work, when WWD covered his stage wear designs for the Lyric Opera of Chicago's 'A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness.'"
The designer and educator is known for his seminal collaborative work with designer and close friend Alexander McQueen. Beyond his partnership with McQueen, Simon has worked with brands from Givency to Nike, Versace to Levi’s. He also established the Fashion School at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University and while no longer with the Academy, Simon continues to work with and mentor up-and-coming talent.
In 2024, Ungless and his partner, Jody Niederkhor, launched When Simon Met Ralph, a sustainable luxury brand that brings Simon’s consummate talent in printmaking to heritage fashion, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that focus on the hand of the maker.
